It's almost time for your favorite rugby party!

Great news!  We can teach you all you need to know.  No experience necessary!

Our schedule varies slightly from year to year depending on where our fields are.  Mainly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but we can also hold Wednesday scrimmages during the season.

We play 15's rugby in the winter and spring.  Starting in January and going through the end of April.  Rugby 7's is played throughout the summer usually starting in June and ending with our home tournament, Tri Tip 7's in September. 

As with any full contact sport there is an element of risk.  The American Academy of Neurology did a small study in 2019 that yielded results of rugby tackles having a lower impact than football style tackles. In training, we teach you how to tackle, how to be tackled, as well as various components of the physicality of our sport. 

SLO Rugby is part of the Southern California Rugby Football Union. Our club is the northern most of the teams and we can travel as far south as San Diego. Other teams include Los Angeles, Fullerton, San Fernando Valley, Kern, and teams as close as Santa Barbara and Ventura. 

It can take us a day or two to respond, but if you don't see anything, check your spam folder to see if something got sent there. 

Welcome to a global community unlike any other!  To play in a sanctioned match, you will need to register with USA Rugby....you will hear it called CIPPing. This is   Club Individualized Participation Program, it is USA Rugby's third party insurance that protects you, the team, and the club. 

Our youth program was impacted by the pandemic and lost momentum.  We have been working on finding coaches, funding, and support to kick start the youth teams again.
